ADOPT AN ANIMAL

Adopt an Animal in the park

All the Animals at the Park can be "adopted" and, while we can't let you take them home we hope that you will feel a close involvement with your chosen animal.

The Park opened in 1994 and has gained the reputation as one of Europe's finest conservation zoos.  We are concerned with the plight of many animals in the wild, as the loss of habitat is proceeding at an alarming rate, particularly in underdeveloped countries.

The cost for adopting is just £10 a year for the species of your choice.

We believe that in the future, the situation will become so desperate that zoos will have to become a lifeboat for many species - at least until the problems in the wild can be sorted out.

Have you ever wondered just how much food it takes to satisfy all our appetites here at the park? Some of us are vegetarians and some eat meat, your adoption goes someway to providing our food for the year. Every year our shopping list looks something like this:

23,500 Bananas            36,500   Carrots
3,430 Bales of Hay  365 kg Rice
18,000 Oranges 7280 Bunches of grapes
7,280 Loaves of Bread 12,000 Lettuce
2,900kg      Fish 11,000 Broccoli Florettes
12 tonnes  Beef 20,000 Potatoes
2,500 Chickens 4,500 Eggs

Your generosity will entitle you to a certificate of adoption, complete with a photograph of your chosen animal and in recognition of your support will add your name to the roll of honor to be displayed in the park.

You may choose any animal we currently have in the park. Visit the animals section for full listings. Please contact us if you are in any doubt.
